A new country

Monday, June 23rd, 2008

A new country has been formed in the Shetland Islands. It is called Forvik, and currently has a population of 1, and he appears to live in a tent. The country claims legitimacy based on interpretation of history and seems to be encouraging use as a tax haven. People are invited to become what I would describe as virtual citizens. This makes it in my opinion a virtual country as much as a physical country.

As the founder of Newland, I wish to concratulate Forvik on its declaration. Although I would like Newland to officially recognise Forvik, that cannot be done at this time because Newland does not have to functioning government that can make decisions and pass laws. Newland’s government remains in development.

Update

Monday, June 23rd, 2008

Due to lack of support from users, Moraff’s Freedom Player is not being updated as you can see from this blog. Moraff is working on other projects, such as Newland and a language teaching program. The first version of the language teaching program is expected to teach English, Chinese, Russian, Italian, and Spanish. As it currently functions, it is second to none in building vocabulary. Release date is unknown.

Just a few of days live with FreedomPlayer.com, and already serving a page a minute! Why don’t you users stop being strictly observers and write a few comments?

New, Upgraded, Free Version Coming!

Tuesday, May 15th, 2007

I can see by the traffic that users are downloading and using Moraff’s Freedom Player, and returning frequently to FreedomPlayer.com. So I am actively working on the player. Upgrades will be small, but frequent. This is user-supported software. So make your suggestions now, and help make this player all things to all people! If nothing else, just let me know in a comment how you use the player so that I can target development toward how users are using it.

Traffic

Monday, May 14th, 2007

Well, you people are coming to the website, and downloading Moraff’s Freedom Player. Only 1 person has read this blog. Do you know who you are? Probably not. Too bad you didn’t leave a comment.

Now actually, you who are reading this, you have an obligation to leave a comment. Do you know how tiny a percentage of users leave comments? They say this Web 2.0 stuff applies only to the tiniest percentage of users.

But since long ago I was a live call in television host, I’ll try to coax a high percentage of Moraff users to participate. Go ahead, write something!

Hello world!

Monday, May 14th, 2007

Welcome to The Moraff Blog. I might refer to it as MB for short. Here you can find out what is new on Moraff sites, as well as engage in discussion of anything relevant to areas in this site.

The first thing I’d like to note is that traffic has begun to build on the FreedomPlayer.com website. I am glad you all are beginning to frequent my new place of business. I have a lot to offer here, and I will try to make it interesting and entertaining.

Don’t forget to check out the Newland and Virtual Countries links on the FreedomPlayer website. These ideas may seem wild now, but soon they’ll be mainstream, and you can say you were among the first to read about it, right here at FreedomPlayer.com.

In case you are interested in why traffic is building up here, it is because I am sponsoring ads on Yahoo. And as you begin to download and fall in love with the Freedom Player, you are returning when you load the player. I hope you’ll keep coming back, and please participate. At this early stage of this new line of business, your influence matters. Don’t wait until there are 10,000 visitors a day to start asking me personal questions and making personal requests. Get your ideas in now!

That’s all for now, tune in later for more!
